My name is Derek, and I believe that innovation is a key mindset for success in a world yet to be imagined. It is invigorating to make systematic changes that allow students the skill sets needed to create innovative change.Â
Philosophy
Education exists to provide students with the mindset, skillset, and toolset to be able to engage in a constantly changing world. As educators, we must form relationships with students, then coach them to become creative creators, confident communicators, capable critical thinkers, and coordinated collaborators. To empower students with the innovative mindsets necessary for success, students must be adept at technology tools in order to be able to process the wealth of information that is available.
